Argentine provinces promote agricultural innovation and regional logistics
In Chaco, Governor Leandro Zdero led the conclusion of the National Cotton Table in Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña. The meeting brought together representatives from producing provinces and various industry stakeholders to address challenges facing the cotton sector. Key objectives include improving genetics, crop management, and production technology to enhance the competitiveness of Argentine cotton in international markets.
Zdero emphasized the need for better agronomic practices, sanitary management, and addressing issues related to weeds and hormonal herbicides. He also called for the formalization of seed commercialization through clear rules, traceability, and a regulatory framework to provide predictability for producers.
In Catamarca, Vice Governor Rubén Dusso presented the province's productive strengths at the IV South American Pecan Symposium. Dusso highlighted the expansion of high-value crops like pecans as part of a strategy to diversify the regional productive matrix alongside mining and renewable energy projects.
He also identified the Bioceanic Corridor via the San Francisco Pass as a critical logistical axis. This infrastructure is viewed as a strategic advantage for Catamarca and other central and northern Argentine provinces, providing more efficient access to international markets.
