Argentine provinces report divergent economic trends
Argentine provinces are reporting divergent economic trends. Entre Ríos has emerged as a leader in productive financing according to the Federal Investment Council (CFI). The province approved 83 credits totaling 10.4 billion pesos through September 2026, representing 105.3 percent of its coparticipation credits—significantly higher than the national average of 45.7 percent.
Governor Rogelio Frigerio stated that the provincial government is committed to supporting the private sector to encourage investment in machinery, technology, and capacity expansion. The province has currently reached 78 percent of its credit placement goal.
In contrast, Tierra del Fuego reported the highest financial deficit in the country for the first half of 2026. A report by consultancy Politikon Chaco placed the province at the bottom of the national fiscal ranking, with a deficit equivalent to 23.1 percent of its total income. This fiscal imbalance was driven by an 8.3 percent real decrease in revenue alongside a 3.5 percent increase in public spending.
