Argentine retirees travel 83,000 kilometers in camper van

An Argentine couple, Reina (Silvia) and Paco, aged 70 and 72, have traveled 83,000 kilometers in a customized Peugeot Boxer camper van since retiring. While they describe themselves as “occasional travelers” rather than permanent nomads, they organize long expeditions every few months.

Their most significant journey lasted approximately eight months and covered 25,000 kilometers across South America. This route took them from the Pacific coast to the Caribbean, eventually returning to Argentina by navigating the Amazon River for five days to reach the Atlantic Ocean.

The couple began their travels during the pandemic to find safer vacationing options. They have since modified their vehicle to better suit their needs, adding custom interior solutions and independent water tanks. They advocate for pursuing dreams immediately, stating, “the future is today.”
