Argentine schools celebrate centennial anniversaries

Several educational institutions in Argentina are marking significant milestones. In Villa Futalaufquen, located within Los Alerces National Park, Escuela N°25 ‘Delia Medici de Chayep’ is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The school operates under a special rural modality, adjusting its calendar to accommodate winter weather, and serves as a vital social hub during environmental emergencies.

In the province of Catamarca, Escuela Primaria N° 142 ‘Policía Federal Argentina’ in El Peñón is also commemorating its centenary. The institution’s history dates back to its origins in the Los Nacimientos area, when the territory was under the jurisdiction of Salta. The school’s centennial celebrations include a project titled ‘Camino al Centenario’ to revalue the historical importance of the school to the Puna community.
