In the Dominican Republic, political leaders have raised concerns regarding public safety and the cost of living. Raúl Martínez of the Fuerza del Pueblo criticized the government's inability to control criminal gangs in Boca Chica despite recent police reforms. Additionally, Johnny Pujols, Secretary General of the PLD, stated that rising fuel prices are placing a heavy burden on the middle class, transport workers, and the productive sectors, noting that price increases continue even when global oil prices remain relatively stable.
