Argentina Senate approves BCRA Organic Charter reform with key amendments
The Argentine Senate has approved a reform of the Organic Charter of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), but the legislation must now return to the Chamber of Deputies due to amendments made by the upper house. The Senate passed the measure with 46 votes in favor and 22 against.
A central component of the reform is the redefinition of the Central Bank’s primary mission, which would be restricted to preserving the value of the currency.
