Argentine Senate approves judicial appointments for Federal Chamber

The Argentine Senate has approved the appointments of Pablo Bertuzzi and Pablo Yadarola to the Federal Chamber in Buenos Aires. This tribunal is considered strategic as it oversees the review of high-impact political and institutional cases, including investigations into economic crimes, corruption, and money laundering handled by the Comodoro Py courts.

Bertuzzi’s appointment passed with 44 votes in favor and 23 against, supported by the ruling party and its allies. Yadarola’s appointment was approved unanimously with 66 votes. These designations, along with 65 others, bring the total number of judicial appointments approved during Javier Milei’s administration to 167.

Following Senate approval, the Executive Branch must issue the corresponding decree and publish it in the Official Gazette to formalize the appointments to Sala I of the Federal Chamber. This specific chamber may handle significant cases, such as the '$Libra' investigation involving President Javier Milei and his sister, Karina Milei.
