Argentine towns organize July‑August patron saint festivals
In the village of Lampacito, residents are preparing for a celebration of Santo Domingo de Guzmán on 8 August. A traditional procession is scheduled for 30 July, followed by a novena and a Mass. Local council members, supported by regional officials, have raised funds to repair the chapel’s roof, restore catechism classrooms and repaint the interior. A raffle with 30 prizes will be held during the festivities, which will also feature a folk music event.
Meanwhile, the Santo Cristo parish in Santiago del Estero is observing the seventh day of its novena to San Pantaleón, with a procession planned for 27 July and a Mass presided over by Cardinal Vicente Bokalic. The parish’s program also includes a triduo honoring Santiago Apóstol and San Francisco Solano. Both celebrations aim to draw community participation through prayer, processions and cultural activities.
