Argentina's ATE union requests medical exam for President Javier Milei

The Asociación de Trabajadores del Estado (ATE) has filed a formal request for public information to determine whether Argentine President Javier Milei is psychophysically fit to hold office. The union's Secretary General, Rodolfo Aguiar, announced the move, alleging that the President exhibits evident imbalances and suggesting he suffers from psychosis.

Aguiar argued that while public employees must undergo medical examinations to enter the administration, no such requirement exists for the nation's highest authority. He stated that a leader's health ceases to be a private matter when it directly impacts their capacity to exercise presidential functions. The union clarified it is not seeking access to sensitive clinical histories or private diagnoses, but rather a formal determination of whether the President is 'fit' or 'unfit' for duty.

Furthermore, ATE is proposing a legal initiative to mandate psychophysical examinations for all elected officials starting next year. The union warned that if a president were found unfit, the legal consequences for their official acts could be severe.
