Argentinian towns roll out free fitness and wellness programs for seniors

The municipality of Resistencia in Chaco province continued its senior‑wellness agenda by offering free yoga, pilates and theater workshops at a local school, alongside cooking classes aimed at promoting active aging and preventing elder abuse. Program director Eugenia Tabarés highlighted the goal of providing an integrated space for physical, mental and social health for older residents.

In La Costa, Rio Negro province, the local government launched “Karate Salud,” a free karate‑based fitness program for adults and seniors at the Villa Clelia sports centre. Led by national karate instructor Pepe Pedrozo, the classes focus on mobility, balance, breathing and coordination to improve overall wellbeing and combat the effects of sedentary aging.
