Argentinian Universities raise funds for student and community food aid
The National University of La Pampa (UNLPam) will host a solidarity locro sale on 9 July. Pre‑sales begin 19 June, with portions priced at 12,000 pesos and payable by debit card or QR code. The event, held in Santa Rosa and General Pico, aims to raise money for the Student Solidarity Fund, which supports vulnerable university students in emergencies.
In Buenos Aires province, the Provincial Social Integration Organization (OPISU) approved a 150‑million‑peso contract with the National University of Quilmes. The university will supply food for the “Super Soup” program, distributing meals in popular neighbourhoods to improve nutrition and health among residents facing social vulnerability.
Both initiatives reflect Argentine universities’ involvement in local social‑assistance efforts, targeting economic hardship and food insecurity among students and low‑income communities.
