Argentinian wildlife raids seize protected red deer and undocumented calves
Federal prosecutors ordered a raid on a hunting lodge in Costa Uruguay Sur, Gualeguaychú, where authorities seized a live protected red deer with 72-point antlers and other wildlife, confiscated firearms, electronics and documents, and arrested those involved in the alleged illegal transfer from Buenos Aires to the lodge for sport hunting.
In a separate operation in Emilia, Santa Fe, provincial police stopped a vehicle transporting nine Jersey calves without the required paperwork. The animals were seized and taken to a depot while investigations continue into the undocumented movement of the livestock.
Both incidents illustrate ongoing enforcement actions against illegal animal trafficking and violations of Argentina's wildlife and livestock regulations.
