Argenx Medical Director emphasizes patient impact in neuropathy treatment
Silvia Rossi, Medical Director at Argenx, emphasized the importance of measuring the real-world impact of medical innovation on patients' daily lives during a webinar for European Biotechnology Week 2026. Speaking at an event organized by the Italian Association of Patients with Autoimmune Neuropathies (Cidp Italia Aps) and WeHealth, Rossi argued that progress must move beyond mere statistical significance to focus on what is meaningful for the individual.
Rossi identified three pillars for transitioning from research to therapeutic innovation: knowledge, collaboration, and courage. She noted that understanding disease processes and mediators is essential for identifying targets to modify or stop disease progression. Furthermore, she highlighted that precision medicine has revolutionized the field, but continued collaboration is necessary to evolve monitoring paradigms and therapeutic goals through new markers and perspectives.
