Argir Argirov retires as Director of Plovdiv Regional Health Inspection

Dr. Argir Argirov has retired from his position as the Director of the Regional Health Inspection (RZI) in Plovdiv. Having reached the age of 65, Argirov stated that his decision to step down was not politically motivated but rather a long-planned transition.

Argirov noted that he had been considering retirement since last year and initiated the process in May by submitting pension documents and a formal request to the Minister of Health. He emphasized that he took these steps months in advance to ensure a smooth transition and to allow sufficient time for a successor to be appointed without disrupting the health inspection system.

Despite his retirement from the directorate, Argirov will remain active in public life by continuing his duties as a municipal councilor until the end of his current mandate. He is an internal medicine specialist with a master's degree in health management and has held various leadership roles in the medical sector, including positions at UMBAL Plovdiv.
