Argolis Operational Actions Department inaugurated in Nea Kio

Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis inaugurated the new Argolis Operational Actions Department in Nea Kio. The new facility is intended to bolster the operational readiness of the Argolis Police Directorate. During the ceremony, it was announced that 10 new police officers will be deployed to the Argolis region, with future goals including the reinforcement of the Traffic Department to improve road safety.

The new department will be named in honor of Nadia Kyriakou, a young woman who died in a traffic accident in Nea Kio approximately two and a half years ago. An official naming ceremony is expected to take place in the near future.

Speaking at the event, which coincided with the 13th anniversary of the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, Chrysochoidis addressed the issues of political violence and hate speech. He emphasized that hatred has never been a tool for development or prosperity and warned against the resurgence of fascism and racism, noting that such violence historically leads to bloodshed and loss of life.
