Argolis to host religious ceremonies and sacred icon arrival

The Argolis region will host significant religious events involving the arrival of a sacred icon and the commemoration of Saint Nektarios.

With the blessing of Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, the Holy and Miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary of the Mount of Olives will be received in Nafplio at the Holy Church of 'Evangelistria' on September 29, 2026. The icon will be transported from Jerusalem by Archimandrite Jeronimos, the Exarch of the Holy Sepulchre in Greece. The icon is scheduled to remain in Nafplio until October 6, 2026, accompanied by a series of liturgical services, including Vespers, Divine Liturgy, and a vigil.

Additionally, the Holy Church of Saint Nektarios in Argos will celebrate the feast of the translation of the Saint's relics on September 3. The celebrations include a Great Panegyric Vespers on September 2 and a festive Divine Liturgy on the day of the feast.
