Argos and Sainsbury’s launch new Christmas advertising campaigns
Retailers Argos and Sainsbury’s have released new festive advertising campaigns in the United Kingdom.
Argos has launched “Tales of Argos Past,” a campaign featuring actor Richard Ayoade. Inspired by Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the advert uses the retailer’s mascots, Connie and Trevor, to guide Ayoade through the company’s history. The campaign aims to demonstrate that Argos has expanded its offerings beyond toys and catalogues to include premium gifts, technology, and homeware.
Sainsbury’s has returned with a third consecutive Christmas advert featuring Roald Dahl’s BFG. The film follows the character Annie as she delivers festive food to the BFG to ensure he does not miss Christmas dinner. The campaign also supports Sainsbury’s partnership with Comic Relief, which aims to raise £30 million by 2030 to help tackle food poverty in the UK.
