Argos: EKAB rescuer injured in violent attack during medical intervention

An EKAB rescuer was injured during a violent unprovoked attack in Argos, Greece. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at the central Agios Petros Square while the crew was providing medical assistance to an intoxicated man.

During the intervention, an individual belonging to the intoxicated man's group turned on the rescuer and physically assaulted them. The rescuer sustained injuries and required immediate transport to a hospital for medical care and examinations.

EKAB Argolis issued a statement strongly condemning the physical assault, noting that healthcare professionals work on the front lines under demanding conditions. The organization expressed full solidarity with the injured colleague and called on relevant authorities to take necessary actions to ensure the protection of workers performing their duties.
