Argos-Mykines hosts free cancer screening program for women
The Municipality of Argos-Mykines is participating in the national population screening program ‘Greece Against Cancer’ from September 23, 2026, to October 30, 2026. Organized by the Hellenic Cancer Foundation in collaboration with the Peloponnese Region and supported by the Medical Association of Argolis, this initiative marks the first time the program is being implemented in this municipality.
Free preventative screenings are available to all female residents of the municipality, regardless of financial, insurance, or tax status. A specially equipped mobile unit from the Hellenic Cancer Foundation will be stationed at Boni Park in Argos, next to the Municipal Children and Youth Library.
The program offers specific services based on age groups: - Pap tests for women aged 25–70. - ThinPrep tests and HPV molecular testing for women aged 30–50. - Digital mammography for women aged 40 and older.
Examinations are conducted by experienced radiologists and cytologists using modern medical technology in accordance with European Guidelines (EUREF). Results will be sent via personal letter by mail. If further investigation is required, follow-up examinations will also be provided free of charge.
