Argos-Mykines launches municipal maintenance and volunteer cleaning initiatives

The Municipality of Argos-Mykines is conducting several initiatives to maintain and improve the city's infrastructure and appearance. The municipal water and sewage company is performing daily cleaning of storm drain inlets to remove leaves, dirt, and debris following recent heavy rainfall. Mayor Giannis Maltazos stated that these systematic efforts aim to ensure the drainage network operates at full capacity to prevent flooding.

Additionally, the municipality has organized a large-scale volunteer anti-graffiti and cleaning action scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026. The initiative aims to clean walls and apply protective coatings on central streets, including Feidonos, Vasilissis Sofias, and Korinthou. Local fan clubs from Panathinaikos and AEK have pledged to participate in the event. The municipality will provide necessary materials such as paint and brushes, encouraging residents to help restore the city's aesthetic beauty.
