Argos-Mykines producers plan protests over rising costs

Farmers in the Argos-Mykines municipality are preparing dynamic mobilizations, including potential road closures in Argolis, to protest high cultivation costs and low selling prices that threaten their livelihoods.

During a large meeting organized by the local Farmers' Association, producers agreed on several key measures: demanding minimum prices of €0.75/kg for clementines and €0.45/kg for oranges, and delaying harvests to allow fruit to ripen naturally on trees rather than using artificial ripening methods.

Producers also expressed concerns regarding the potential mislabeling of products from other regions as local Argolis produce, calling for stricter inspections. While the meeting saw a massive turnout from farmers, representatives from the commercial export sector were notably absent.
