Argyroupoli: Man shot during attempted kidnapping

In Argyroupoli, a 46-year-old man of former Soviet Union origin was shot in the shoulder during an attempted kidnapping. The victim reported that four unidentified individuals approached him on Gravias Street in the early hours of Sunday, August 30, and attempted to force him into a private vehicle. After resisting the attackers, one of the suspects shot him in the shoulder as they fled the scene. The victim sustained a penetrating wound but was able to transport himself to the Tzaneio Hospital, where he is currently being treated and is reported to be out of danger.

Local security authorities have launched a preliminary investigation to identify the four suspects and determine the exact circumstances and motives behind the attack.

In a separate incident in Thessaloniki, a 24-year-old Hungarian national was brought before a court following a police arrest for dangerous driving. The individual was filmed performing high-speed maneuvers, including drifts and 'donuts', with a high-performance sports car on M. Alexandrou Avenue. The driver admitted to the reckless behavior, describing it as an 'unthinking' act performed while traveling through Europe for supercar events. Authorities are continuing to investigate three other drivers potentially involved in similar reckless driving incidents in the city.
