Ari Aster expands cast for A24 thriller ‘Scapegoat’

Director Ari Aster has expanded the cast for his upcoming A24 psychological thriller, ‘Scapegoat’. The latest additions include Ella Purnell, known for ‘Fallout’, Caleb Landry Jones from ‘Get Out’, and Samba Schutte.

These actors join a high-profile ensemble that already features Scarlett Johansson, Jacob Elordi, and Jude Law. Aster is writing, directing, and producing the film alongside Lars Knudsen through their Square Peg banner, with A24 handling distribution.

While official plot details remain under wraps, unconfirmed reports suggest the story follows a surgeon whose career unravels after a routine procedure results in the death of a high-profile digital influencer. The narrative reportedly explores themes of public outrage and social media-driven consequences. Filming is expected to begin in New York on November 2, 2026, and continue through January 2027.
