Arian Smith's role with the New York Jets remains secure

New York Jets player Arian Smith is expected to maintain his position on the team despite recent frustrations regarding his offensive performance. While Smith struggled with a dropped pass during a single offensive snap, his value to the team remains rooted in his specialized role on special teams.

Smith has established himself as one of the league’s effective gunners, earning a 78.1 special teams grade from Pro Football Focus. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn indicated that the team is not expecting Smith to be an offensive standout, noting that his primary contribution lies in his ability to excel within his specific role to help the team.
