Ariana Grande’s Petal debuts at number one on Billboard 200

Ariana Grande’s eighth studio album, ‘Petal’, has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, earning 295,000 equivalent album units in its first week. This achievement marks her seventh number-one album on the chart, tying her with Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga for the fifth-most number-one albums by a solo female artist in history.

The debut was driven by 168,000 pure album sales and 126,000 streaming equivalent units, supported by 128.83 million on-demand streams. The album also saw significant physical sales, including 96,000 vinyl copies. Released via her own label, Babydoll Music, in partnership with Republic Records, the 12-track project was co-written and co-produced by Grande and Ilya Salmanzadeh, with Max Martin contributing to three tracks.

This commercial success follows the chart-topping performance of the lead single, ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me’, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Amidst the album's release and the conclusion of her ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour, Grande has expressed her gratitude to fans on social media while also preparing for a planned hiatus from public life.
