Ariana Grande prepares release of new album “Petal”

Ariana Grande announced that her forthcoming album, titled “Petal,” will be released on July 31. The album was first hinted at in April, with a stark black‑and‑white cover and a description of the music as “a little feral,” reflecting a more confrontational tone than her previous work. The lead single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” combines heartbreak lyrics with a bridge that challenges the audience’s treatment of women.

“Petal” will be Grande’s first record issued through her own label, Babydoll Music, while still being distributed by Republic Records. Twelve tracks are planned, co‑written and executive‑produced by Grande and Ilya, with Max Martin contributing on select songs. The album follows the “Eternal Sunshine” tour, meaning Grande will debut the new material live before the tour concludes.
