Ariana Grande withdraws from London musical and pauses public appearances

Ariana Grande announced that she will step back from public visibility after completing her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which ends with a final show in London on 1 September. Her representative told People that she wants to finish the tour “healthily and happily” and then take a “much‑deserved break from public‑facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”

Because of this decision, Grande will no longer appear in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Sunday in the Park with George, scheduled to open at the Barbican Centre in summer 2027 opposite her Wicked co‑star Jonathan Bailey. Empire Street Productions confirmed the change, expressing “complete understanding and support” and noting that the production will continue as planned with recasting. The withdrawal follows heightened speculation about Grande’s health and body image after the release of her eighth album Petal and its music video.

The musical will proceed without her, and Grande’s future public activities remain unspecified.
