Arianna Zanoni addresses gender bias during political debate

During a debate titled ‘Tax the rich’ at the Festa de l’Unità in Brembate, Arianna Zanoni, a local councilor for Stezzano Futura, addressed gender bias following a comment regarding her physical appearance.

The event, which focused on fiscal reform, wealth redistribution, and protections for the middle class, featured Senator Antonio Misiani and Caritas Bergamo director Roberto Trussardi. After an audience member commented on her appearance, Zanoni used the subsequent Q&A session to address the issue, stating that women in politics should be judged on their ideas and actions rather than their looks.

Zanoni emphasized that such comments detract from the professional dignity of women in political institutions and called for a level playing field where political contributions are prioritized over physical appearance.
