Arica: Venezuelan man dies during alleged copper cable theft

A Venezuelan man died in Arica, Chile, after receiving a severe electric shock while allegedly attempting to steal copper cables in the Cerro Chuño area.

According to Eugenio Herrera Vallejos, head of the Arica and Parinacota Police Region, the electric shock caused the individual to fall from a significant height, resulting in fatal injuries. The PDI Homicide Brigade responded to the discovery of the body and used specialized systems to identify the victim as a Venezuelan national, though his name has not been released.

The case has been handed over to the Chilean Public Ministry, which will lead the ongoing investigation into the incident.
