Arica y Parinacota to receive new sports infrastructure
The Ministry of Sport is advancing major sports infrastructure projects in the Arica y Parinacota region. These initiatives, part of a six-work portfolio funded by the Special Development Plan for Extreme Zones (PEDZE), include the construction of a new aquatic pavilion and a modern multi-sport complex.
To facilitate these projects, an agreement is being finalized between the Ministry of Sport, the National Sports Institute (IND), and the Municipality of Arica. The municipality will provide land north of the current Olympic pool for the construction of a covered aquatic pavilion and a second pool, alongside a four-level multi-sport facility. Once completed, the infrastructure will return to municipal administration.
