Arie Keppler Prize 2026 winners announced in Noord-Holland

The Arie Keppler Prize 2026, which recognizes projects contributing to improved living environments in Noord-Holland, has announced its winners from 104 submissions.

In Alkmaar, the renovated shopping street ‘De Laat’ won the award in the ‘Exemplary Ownership’ category. The project involved transforming a paved street into a greener space with more trees, plants, and improved rainwater management to combat heat stress and water nuisance while increasing the area's attractiveness.

The Cruquius Museum was awarded the Arie Keppler Public Prize 2026. The jury praised the museum's new pavilion for its no-nonsense architecture that aligns with the site's DNA, noting the effective use of brick and corten steel to emphasize the landscape's levels.
