Arif Ahmet Denizolgun's grave exhumed for murder investigation

The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the exhumation of Arif Ahmet Denizolgun's grave at Karacaahmet Cemetery to investigate his suspicious 2016 death. Denizolgun, a former Transport Minister and leader of the Süleymancılar religious community, originally died from what was recorded as a brain hemorrhage.

However, family members and witnesses have raised allegations of murder, potential poisoning, and procedural misconduct. A key witness, Rüstem Şahin, testified that current community leader Alihan Kuriş may have had prior knowledge of the death. The investigation also examines claims that original autopsy videos were missing, though the Forensic Medicine Institute recently recovered and delivered these recordings to prosecutors.

In a related legal development, the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice overturned a previous ruling regarding the Denizolgun family's business interests. The court declared a general assembly meeting void, resulting in the transfer of a 45% stake in Arden Gıda back to the legal heir, Mehmet Beyazıt Denizolgun, following allegations that Alihan Kuriş attempted to unlawfully seize the company through inheritance manipulation.
