ARIF Puglia discusses permanent employment for 360 workers

The Commissioner of the Regional Agency for Irrigation and Forestry Activities (ARIF) in Puglia has met with trade unions to discuss employment prospects and the stabilization of staff. The discussions focused on finding concrete solutions to protect career paths and value the professional experience of current workers while ensuring the agency maintains necessary expertise.

Regional Councilor for Agriculture and Rural Development Francesco Paolicelli noted that current regulations prevent the automatic conversion of fixed-term contracts into permanent ones. Consequently, the agency intends to implement specific competitive selection procedures (concorsi). These procedures may include preferential scoring to recognize the skills and experience of existing workers, provided they adhere to budget constraints and public employment laws.

The initiative aims to provide stability for approximately 360 workers. Representatives from Fai Cisl, Flai Cgil, and Uila Uil expressed a positive view of the dialogue, emphasizing the dual goal of securing solid employment perspectives for workers and strengthening the agency’s institutional organization.
