Arijit Singh Returns to Playback Singing with 'Yeh Awarapan' for Awarapan 2

Indian singer Arijit Singh is reported to have recorded the title track “Yeh Awarapan” for the upcoming Bollywood sequel Awarapan 2. The song, composed by Amaal Mallik with lyrics by Rashmi Virag, is scheduled for release on 21 July 2026 at 11:11 AM, following a promotional teaser from Sony Music India.

Awarapan 2, directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films, stars Emraan Hashmi alongside Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi and others, with a theatrical launch set for 14 August 2026. The report marks Singh’s potential first playback assignment since he announced on 27 January that he would stop accepting new songs, making his involvement notable for fans.

The promotional material highlights the film’s emotional tone, echoing the original 2007 cult classic, and confirms Singh’s vocal contribution alongside the film’s ensemble cast.
