Arin Lake water levels show significant decline

The Van Lake Activists Association and the Tatvan Running Club organized a nature walk around Arin Lake to raise environmental awareness and observe the lake's current condition. This marked the fourth year of the event, which involved approximately 60 nature enthusiasts.

Participants reported noticeable water level retreats along the shores of Arin Lake. Dr. Erdoğan Özel, President of the Van Lake Activists Association, expressed concern regarding the visible loss of water, noting that the decline is a critical issue affecting the entire Van Lake Basin.

Experts attributed the receding water levels to several factors, including drought, climate change, irregular precipitation patterns, and unconscious water consumption. The group called for further research into these environmental impacts and emphasized the need to protect water resources and prevent pollution within the basin.
