Arinaitwe Rugyendo appointed Uganda Parliament Speaker’s Press Secretary

Dr. Arinaitwe Deo Rugyendo, a veteran journalist and media entrepreneur, has been appointed as the Principal Press Secretary to the Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Oboth-Oboth. Rugyendo succeeds Joseph Sabiti in the role.

Rugyendo brings over two decades of experience in newsrooms, academia, and media management. His career includes early work as a reporter for Daily Monitor and co-founding the tabloid Red Pepper in 2001. He also established ResearchFinds News, a platform focused on research communication and policy analysis. He recently completed a PhD in Journalism and Communication at Makerere University.
