Ariquemes firefighters rescue 5-year-old from transmission tower

A five-year-old boy was rescued from the top of a transmission tower in Ariquemes, Rondônia, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The incident occurred on Rua Mirante da Serra while the child's parents were at work and he was under the supervision of his 10-year-old brother.

The child managed to access and climb the metal structure, causing panic among local residents who captured video of the boy at the top of the tower. The Fire Department (Corpo de Bombeiros) deployed a specialized technical rescue team to the scene.
