Asteras AKTOR and Aris draw 1-1 in Greek Cup opener

Asteras Tripolis and Aris Thessaloniki played to a 1-1 draw in their opening match of the Greek Cup League Phase at the “Th. Kolokotronis” stadium in Tripoli.

Asteras took the lead in the 60th minute through Federico Macheda. The hosts had an earlier goal by Jordan Silva disallowed by VAR for offside. Aris responded in the 68th minute when substitute Loren Moron scored from a difficult angle to equalize.

Aris manager Michalis Gregoriou expressed dissatisfaction with the team's performance, noting they were not at the desired level. He also criticized a non-call on a potential penalty involving player Gare. Despite the draw, Gregoriou remains optimistic about Moron's form and the team's upcoming match against PAOK.
