Aris FC supporters criticize PM Mitsotakis' Thessaloniki visit

Organized supporters of the Aris football club, identified as SUPER 3, issued a lengthy statement criticizing Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis following his visit to Thessaloniki.

The group accused the Prime Minister of using football sentiment for political communication and suggested he was treating Thessaloniki as a mere audience for specific interests. The statement argued that the Prime Minister's repeated references to a former fellow citizen and footballer were inappropriate, claiming he uses such topics to avoid addressing pressing national issues.

Specifically, the supporters demanded accountability regarding the Tempi train crash, wiretapping scandals, and matters involving the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET). They asserted that Aris FC is not a ‘supporting actor’ in its home city and called for respect and equality rather than political gestures aimed at specific fan bases.
