Aris gears up for Atalanta friendly in Italy

Greek club Aris, coached by Michalis Grigoriou, is conducting training camps in the Brescia area of Italy ahead of a scheduled friendly against Serie A side Atalanta on 26 July. During the sessions the coach experimented with a new tactical shape, deploying Diodis, Fantika and Kerkes across the back line and pairing Fambiano with Gensen in midfield while using Rquame in a freer role behind the forwards. Grigoriou stressed an aggressive, pressure‑based approach, saying “I want immediate pressure; it doesn’t matter who scores, the team must score.”

The preparation coincides with the arrival of two new signings – Tom Dele‑Basiru and Roko Jurišić – both on three‑year contracts, who are expected to integrate quickly. Grigoriou also repositioned Frenk Gensen to centre‑back and indicated that further midfield options such as Fabian, Tiom and Kamtsi are being considered as the squad finalises its roster for the summer campaign.
