Aris Servetalis transforms appearance for role as Saint Joseph

Greek actor Aris Servetalis has undergone a significant physical transformation, appearing with long hair and a thick beard in preparation for his upcoming television role as Saint Joseph the Hesychast.

During a recent event titled ‘Dimitria 2026’ held at the Holy Temple of Agios Dimitrios, Servetalis participated in a discussion regarding ‘Spiritual ethics and the art of the actor.’ He shared personal reflections on his journey toward faith, noting that his profession often fosters vanity and ego. He described his spiritual path as a response to a period of intense personal searching.

To prepare for his role, Servetalis previously visited Mount Athos to observe monastic life and gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual conditions in which Saint Joseph lived. He emphasized that his approach to the character involves both an external transformation and an internal understanding of the saint's personality.
