Aris Thessaloniki nears deal for goalkeeper Ricardo Veloso

Aris Thessaloniki is in advanced negotiations to sign 27-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo Veloso from SC Farense. Discussions have been ongoing since June, with the deal now reaching its final stages.

Two primary transfer structures are being considered: a permanent transfer valued between 3 million and 3.5 million euros, or a loan agreement that includes a purchase option. The complexity of the deal stems from the player's ownership rights; Farense holds 80% of his rights, while SC Braga retains the remaining 20%.

Veloso, who is under contract with Farense until 2028, was a member of the Portugal squad during the World Cup as the fourth-choice goalkeeper. He spent the previous season on loan at the Turkish club Gençlerbirliği, where he became a regular starter. Reports indicate he is currently training separately from the Farense squad as he seeks a move.
