Ariyoshi no Kabe ends regular broadcast, announces year-end specials and Hulu drama

The Nippon TV variety program ‘Ariyoshi no Kabe’ concluded its regular weekly broadcast on September 30. During the final episode, host Ariyoshi Hiroiki announced that the show will continue through special year-end broadcasts.

Additionally, it was revealed that a new ‘yankee drama’ will be produced for the streaming service Hulu, directed by Ariyoshi. While the specific title, story, and cast have not yet been determined, the project is expected to be released within the year.

The transition from a regular series to special broadcasts reflects broader industry trends where comedy-focused sketch programs face challenges maintaining high real-time viewership in an era dominated by short-form social media content and on-demand video platforms.
