Arizona athletics face high expectations in Big 12 competition

Arizona's athletic programs are entering high-stakes periods within the Big 12 Conference. In men's basketball, the fifth-ranked Wildcats are favored to win the league following a successful previous season. Coach Tommy Lloyd noted that while the team has a revamped roster featuring players like Motiejus Krivas and Ivan Kharchenkov, the conference is expected to be exceptionally deep, citing competition from Houston and Kansas.

In football, the No. 22 ranked Wildcats are navigating a successful season led by quarterback Noah Fifita. Fifita, who has thrown for 2,064 yards and 18 touchdowns through seven games, has helped the team achieve its best start in 12 years. Arizona currently holds a 6-1 record and prepares for a significant road matchup against No. 13 Texas Tech.
