Arizona Cardinals coach praises rookie Will Johnson

Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur highlighted the talent of rookie cornerback Will Johnson, noting that Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford found him difficult to play against during the previous season.

LaFleur, who previously served as the Rams’ offensive coordinator, observed Johnson’s ability to read the game and unpredictability on the field. He noted that Johnson’s high football intelligence and ability to change defensive schemes made him a challenge for opposing offenses.

The Cardinals selected Johnson in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft following his standout performance at Michigan. Johnson signed a four-year rookie contract valued at approximately $9.4 million.
