Arizona Cardinals' Isaiah Adams arrested on gun charges in Canada

Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Isaiah Adams was taken into custody in Ontario, Canada, following a guns‑and‑gangs investigation by Durham Regional Police. He faces four firearms‑related offenses: possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of a prohibited device. The investigation also resulted in fentanyl‑related charges for two other suspects. Adams, a 25‑year‑old third‑round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, has been a starter at guard for the Cardinals and was expected to report to the team's training camp in late July. His attorney, Adam Weisberg, said Adams is “completely innocent” and had no knowledge of the weapons. The Cardinals issued a brief statement saying they are aware of the situation and will refrain from further comment out of respect for the process. Bail was granted, allowing Adams to return to Arizona and join the squad for conditioning tests before the first practice.
