Arizona Diamondbacks conclude 2026 season without playoffs

The Arizona Diamondbacks finished the 2026 season with an 86-76 record, marking the third consecutive year the team failed to qualify for the postseason. Despite exceeding some expectations, the club missed the playoffs during the final weekend of the year.

The team's pitching rotation struggled with stability and depth, ranking 18th in baseball with a 4.18 starter ERA. While Eduardo Rodriguez and Brandon Pfaadt provided strong performances, other key starters like Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly dealt with injuries or ineffective play.

Looking toward 2027, several players face significant pressure to improve performance. Second baseman Ketel Marte, who hit .249/.316/.432 with 22 home runs, faces scrutiny following offensive struggles and midseason absences that sparked trade speculation.
