Arizona Fall League begins with prospects from all 30 MLB teams

The Arizona Fall League (AFL) is underway, featuring six teams composed of prospects from all 30 Major League Baseball organizations. The league runs from October 3 to November 14, concluding with a round-robin playoff and a championship game.

Various MLB organizations are utilizing the league for player development. The San Diego Padres have sent eight players to the Peoria Javelinas, including five pitchers and three position players. The Los Angeles Dodgers have prospects such as Eduardo Quintero and Charles Davalan participating with the Glendale Desert Dogs.

Additionally, Texas Rangers prospect Sebastian Walcott is playing for the Surprise Saguaros to gain defensive repetitions at shortstop following recovery from UCL surgery. The league provides a platform for players to gain extra competition, replace lost time due to injury, or continue development after their standard minor league seasons conclude.
