Arizona Fall League begins with top MLB prospects
The 2026 Arizona Fall League is set to begin this Saturday, featuring several high-ranking minor league prospects looking to advance their development. The league consists of six teams, including players from the Braves, Marlins, Dodgers, and White Sox, competing for a championship on November 14.
Among the notable participants is Texas Rangers infielder Sebastian Walcott, the highest-ranked prospect in the league according to MLB Pipeline. After returning from elbow surgery earlier than expected this year, Walcott aims to gain more defensive repetitions. Detroit Tigers top prospect Zyhir Hope also joins the league following a breakout season where he recorded 29 home runs and 111 RBIs in Double-A.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are also represented by eight prospects playing for the Glendale Desert Dogs. Key players include infielder Wyatt Sanford, who posted a .292 batting average with 17 home runs, and Easton Carmichael, who combined for 20 home runs across High-A and Double-A levels. Other Pirates participants include Jhonny Severino and pitcher Brandon Cain.
