Arizona gaming officials launch education month amid rising sports betting

The Arizona Department of Gaming and the Arizona Lottery have launched a campaign for Responsible Gaming Education Month throughout September. Following a proclamation by Governor Katie Hobbs, the initiative aims to promote responsible play and connect residents with resources to address gambling-related harm. The 'Responsible Play for a Stronger Arizona' digital campaign, created in collaboration with the Arizona Media Association, provides education in both English and Spanish across various media platforms.

In related financial news, state gaming officials reported that approximately $599.5 million was wagered on sports and events in Arizona during July. This figure represents a 29.3% increase compared to July 2025. For the 2027 fiscal year to date, regulated event wagering and fantasy sports have generated approximately $8.1 million in privilege fees for the state.
